About MUTUK

OUR HUMBLE BEGINING:

It was in the year 1990, when the Tiv Community in the United Kingdom came together and started functioning under the auspices of MUTUK, an acronymn for Mzough U Tiv U.K, which means: Mutual Union of Tiv in the UK. It is an extention of an idea, as a sense of community, to bring together the people of Tiv origin in diaspora under a forum for Unity, Peace and Harmony.

OFFICIAL REGISTRATION:

It is registered under the Friendly Societies Act 1974 with registration number 107BEN.

OBJECTIVES:

One of the many objectives of the society as enshrined in her Constitution include helping and ensuring furtherance and continuity of our culture and heritage and to promote unity and cooperation amongst our members who are descendants of Tiv the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria.

Emphasis is also placed on promoting and developing the social, moral and cultural life of the Tiv community in the United Kingdom, maintaining their social welfare and organising mutual help and succour to those of them who need it. This is the true Tiv spirit of our forebears.
